High Tech Rochester will be hosting an exciting week full of entrepreneurial activities the week of November 6th, 2017. During this week, Paul Singh, an experienced entrepreneur and venture capitalist, will be visiting Rochester on his North American Tech Tour. Singh is on a mission to discover the best tech startups outside of Silicon Valley. He’s coming to Rochester to talk about his philosophy on investing, to meet with local startup founders, and to engage with our entrepreneurial ecosystem for a few days. We’re very excited to show him what Rochester’s got!
Furthermore, teams competing for a place in Luminate‘s first cohort will be in town meeting with our advisory board, getting to know Rochester, and pitching their companies. Ten teams will be selected to participate in the first cohort of Luminate, the world’s largest accelerator for optics, photonics, and imaging-enabled startups, slated to begin in January 2018. Each team will receive $100,000 and have the chance to compete for the $1,000,000 grand prize.
And last but not least, Rochester entrepreneurs will be showcasing their work at Rochester Young Professionals 7th Annual Entrepreneurship Expo at The Metropolitan! It’s a great opportunity to connect with the local community and meet some innovative young entrepreneurs.
