Ovitz believes that everyone has a right to proper sight in order to live a prosperous and fulfilling life. Their mission is to expand and enhance accessibility to eye care through portable ophthalmic equipment. Ovitz provides the equipment to deliver eye care in and out of the doctor’s office by measuring the refractive error to diagnose nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. Their handheld device will be faster and cheaper than the current industry standard making basic eye care available everywhere.
The technology behind Ovitz spawned from CEO Felix Kim, who brought it to life in the University of Rochester student incubator. They have since expanded into a resident space in NextCorps. As a resident, Ovitz values the low-cost office space, the NextCorps community, and the support systems they have found here.
Ovitz is currently under clinical testing while researching markets and strategies.
