When the COVID-19 pandemic began to hit the U.S., the food industry was undoubtedly going to face repercussions. While medical institutions were at the top of the list for receiving support, George Zheng realized that acquiring protection for his employees at his organic mushroom company was going to become difficult. This resulted in him launching his second startup company, Herogard, which supplies FDA approved protective face masks and donates masks to food banks with every purchase. Sandy Sloane, president of Solutions by Sloane and events consultant at NextCorps, speaks with George Zheng, founder of Leep Foods and Herogard, both NextCorps incubation members.
